Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Ingredients

4 pork chops

2 green apples (peeled, cored and sliced)

1/8 tsp cinnamon (ground)

1/8 tsp nutmeg (ground)

1 tsp vegetable oil

2 Tbsp brown sugar

2 Tbsp unsalted butter

3 Tbsp pecans

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat oven to 80°C and place a medium dish in the oven to warm.

Place a large pan over medium-high heat then brush chops lightly with oil and place in the hot pan. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes, turning occasionally. Transfer to the warm dish and keep in the preheated oven.

Mix the brown sugar, salt, pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl. Add butter to the pan, and stir in above mixture with apples. Cover and cook until apples are just tender. Remove apples and arrange on top of the chops. Keep warm in the preheated oven.

Cook the sauce uncovered in skillet until thickened. Spoon sauce over apples and chops, sprinkle with pecans and serve with a glass of Survivor Chardonnay.
