Dear Wine Enthusiasts,
As the end of July approaches, it traditionally marks the conclusion of the judging for the annual Shiraz Challenge and heralds the upcoming Awards Function. Last week, their esteemed panel of judges dedicated themselves to tasting this year’s entries. Despite a slight decrease in entries, the judges were unanimous in their praise for the elegant wines, noting the diversity of styles from various regions and the consistently high quality. South African Shiraz continues to impress, as explained in their press release.
Without further ado, here are the finalists in the Shiraz category, listed alphabetically:
Survivor Syrah 2022
Saronsberg Provenance Shiraz 2022
Spier Seaward Shiraz 2022
Stellenbosch Reserve Kruithuis Syrah 2022
