Survivor Wine Truck

SURVIVOR GOES MOBILE

No doubt about it: ‘mobile food’ as dispensed by an ever- growing range of colourful trucks, vans and caravans has taken South Africa by storm. And now there is South Africa’s very first wine truck, distributing the award-winning Survivor range across the country.

Saturday 5 November saw Overhex Wines International launching the Survivor truck at a sold-out Elvis Blue concert held at the Overhex Winery & Bistro on the R60 between Worcester and Robertson.

The striking truck features the original design by graphic artist Ronel Spies which was modified by Imogen Eades of Ima Studio. Further credit goes to Myburgh Grobbelaar of Diesign Gogga who did the vinyl application while the project manager is Luca Castiglione of Cape Town Food Trucks.

According to the Marketing Manager, the eye-catching truck will be travelling far and wide, selling Survivor wines at concerts and festivals across the country. “The truck is also available for hire and promises to create quite a stir at special events such as birthday parties and weddings.

The Marketing Manager goes on to explain the relevance of the truck: “The charming story behind the Survivor wine range is that of an Nguni cow who accidently found her way to a Swartland vineyard by jumping truck as she passed by. She was named ‘Survivor’ and not only did she survive, she has thrived and even produced several offspring. The premium range pays tribute to this remarkable lady with four highly sought-after wines from the Swartland and it is only right that these wines should travel in style – in the amazing new Survivor truck!”
